AWD tire question
Well i found a set of OEM 18s and the tires on there now are 225/40 fronts and 255/40 rears...
The rears are like new and the fronts need to be replaced... i dont want to replace all 4 tires so i was told i could just do 225/45 front and leave the 255/40 rear and i know i dont and probably couldnt run 255/40 fronts...
so the question is will i be fine with 225/45 front and 255/40 rears i know they said keep it in stock tire specs but i herd its all about the diameter...
rear: 255/40R18 = 26"
front: 225/45R18 = 26"
sooo will this work?
thanks

yes that will work, your within .2% rolling diameter front in back. you will be fine.
for an awd car going staggered it's about rolling diameter between the fronts and rear. mine is within .1% of each other and they have been on for 15K. no issues what so ever.
