New Tires - Recommendation
Just learned that it's about time to get some new tires. I have some serious highway miles from driving to work and will have to make my first change in tires (after 2.5 years since purchase).
All tires need to be changed and so I'm looking for any recommendations for an '06 awd IS and preferrably all-season tires. Not looking for special performance tires as I live in Boston and we all know how much snow, salt, sand, and pot-holes we get here.
Feedback much appreciated.
Thanks!
p.s. -- already spent an arm and a leg for new brake pads and rotars at the dealer. I had brought my car in for a simple oil change but they gave me a loaner since there was a recall on the fuel line, rear brake dust boots, and some steering component. Since I had the loaner car and out of convienence, I OK-ed the change in brake pads --- so looking for a practical deal in new tires instead.
THANKS AGAIN!

We went with the Falken 912's for our IS AWD, so far, they have been superb. They are rated as High Performance All Seasons, and we went through our recent snow storms with them, manged to get around quite well. Also noticed that, subjectively I admit, they have improved steering feel from the OEM's, and are much quieter.

hopefully you spent an "arm and a leg" for just the REAR brakes and rotars, since the TSIB covers the front brakes and rotars.
How many miles are you at with your old tires?

Wow, 37k on the AWD OEM's? That's unreal, and quite amazing. We had to replace ours at just under 21k, and they were badly worn, and loosing air. We only got 18k out of our OEM's (Goodyear POS) on our RX, but then, despite my venerable old age (especially as compared to the majority on this forum), I do not drive like a Grandpa.
