Default hapaboy installs roadkill expert, ironically solves B-pillar rattle [PHOTOS]

so i'm finally rolling on my mods. unfortunately this is one that will never bee seen unless i'm begged to pull off the door panel. i was lucky enough to have a lot of great help. total time was about 4 hours for the 2 doors. but this included time to take some pics, share jokes, and call up javyLSU. i'm lovin this mod so far, and it will be even better once i have a good system overhaul plan. so the irony of this whole thing was to make the sound more crisp and tight, but when i shut the thing off, i noticed that my irritating b-pillar rattle (from the seatbelt let out) was gone! most likely this was due to removing and re-installing the door panel better than the japanese installed it in the first place. enjoy some pics! springs are next!

1. oh my! the flattest mod box.

I too have the b-pillar rattle which appears to happen only during the hot months. But I'm confused how this rattle is fixed by adding sound damping material on the door.

Anyways, how much does that material cost? This is something I want to do and I got no problem removing the door panel because I've done it many times.

Those alpine things look like the pdx amps. Did you install new amps to the stock speakers and sub?????

Did you dynamat behind the panel? I dynamatted my door panels and around the speakers. The sound clarity got nicer but I still couldn't get rid of the rattle. It sounds like the rattle is coming from within the panel, basically between the outershell of the door and where the window sits.

It looks like in one of your first pics you put dynamat behind the panel area, how did you get that back there?

yes, it's sound damping sheets. the road "hum" is noticeably less. bumps are quieter for some reason too.

it is worth the hassle. actually it was realatively easy to do, but tedious. if you don't want to change anything about the stock sound system, this is the easiest thing to do. when i'm at volume 25, it sounds like i'm at volume 30. the mid speaker now has direction and sounds more focused. the base is silky low now with a crisp punch. for now i'm doing anything with the sound system as the stock amp sucks, so this would mean quite a bit of modification. so i did this to be happier for the moment.

maybe like $25-50 per sheet. just google stinger roadkill or dynamat.

no, i was just playing with some parts, and that trunk is my installers' earthquake machine.

that was behind the lower speaker, the speaker was removed and a sheet was slid behind the window. most people don't do this. but we did!
