Default Noise when in reverse?

Anybody else experience what I would call a grinding noise when in reverse?

It only happens first thing in the morning when backing out of garage. It almost sounds like brakes are metal to metal. I doubt its that as the car only as 26K miles and had the brake TSB done at about 12K. Also, I never hear it again. I figure if it was brakes I'd hear it every time I apply the brakes.

Since its first thing in the morning, it might have something to do with the car being bone cold. After sitting 8 hours + at work..It doesn't occur..

I am stumped. I'm going to make an appointment to get a couple TSB things done (like that danm dash rattle!) and have them check it out then.

I'd like to hear if anybody else has had an issue like this.

Hey today it happen when I work on customer ES350.. Customer state that he heard a dragging noise while backing up.. The master tech told me it is a brake pad recall.. U might need to go back and talk to the service writer about the SHIM brake pad.. Im not sure if they made SHIM brake pad for the ISx50.. I was too busy working on customer lexus and dont have time to read the ticket..

Update:

I made an appointment last Friday to have three things looked at:

Startup noise - the grinding noise
Dash squeek
The reverse noise.

They took a look and said they are going to do the cam gear change for the startup noise. They said they would need it until the next Monday due to the amount of work and time required.

I got a call today (Monday) and the service advisor told me there were three other things they would like to do that are service call related:

Fuel pipe change
Rear brake dust boot
Change the rack (as in rack in pinion)

Got another call back saying that one of the symptoms of the brake dust boot issue was related to a rear caliper issue. They have to get the part in, and should get it tomorrow. It sounded like the caliper is part of the reverse noise.

They will have the car longer than I expected, but getting all the stuff fixed is great. I got a LX350 loaner which is nice to have..especially since I had some stuff to haul that stuff that wouldn't fit in the IS.

So, I am really happy with the service I have been getting from Lexus of Portland.

I'll update once I get it back and make sure all the things got fixed
