Somewhat amusing...

I happen to like both cars, both are tastefully done high performance cars.

IDK which to choose. I voted 1SICK in 2012!! ftw... The IS-f is great power but limiited handling. The F-sport you gain the handling but lose 100 hp. I can say that a lightly modded IS350 can hang with IS-f until 80-90 mph and has shown to have better 60 foot times b/c of the F's traction issues. Still IDK????

Hey HKS the issue with the IS-F isn't the traction, but the transmission stall speed. It's too low and causes the car to bog momentarily off the line before taking off again. In a few of my videos if you watch close enough you can actually see the car doing this.

Also very true the IS350 (full exhaust) will indeed hang with the IS-F for the first 1/8th mile, but after that the IS-F pulls out ahead by a large margin. Here is a video of some runs that I did with Zexnos back in August. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFTj5...e=channel_page

My vote is to get the IS-F just because you can get good deals on them compared to it's competition and seems silly to spend the extra money for the F-sport parts which will put the total close to what a IS-F would cost ya.

J

No comparison in the sheer power and acceleration of the F vs. 350.

But the value for the IS350, stealth appearance and lower insurance costs are big plusses.

You don't buy an IS F (or M3, C63 AMG or RS4) for value. They are solely geared towards "fun to drive". Truthfully, the IS350 has more power than most people will utilize anyways.

I will say this:

At the Lexus Driving Academy, they used IS250 (yes, the 250s) with F-sport goodies as the pace vehicle in the lead/follow with the IS-F. And, I don't think the instructors were letting us take "sunday cruises" out there, as we were driving pretty aggressively.

Plus, IIRC, the instructors themselves stated that the F-sport goodies made the car a better handling/more balanced vehicle than the IS-F.

I'm not trying to crap on any IS-F owners. There is no need for the 335 vs M3-like argument. The F is a really nice car, and I really liked it. And (as others said) the steering was so direct that it made me go out and get the F-sport sways in hopes to make it feel more like the F.

All I'm saying is that it depends on what you want out of the vehicle. Like the above poster said, the 350 is probably more than enough for most anyway.

BOTH are the real thing. We are fotunate Lexus is listening and made these changes to the 2IS
1-More options (2 engine choices, 3 trannies, RWD/AWD)
2-M/AMG etc competitor in the IS-F
3-M-sport competitor with the F-sport OEM parts.

Both are incredible cars. The IS-F clearly takes things to another level. The F-sport is superb as well.

I don't know about others who switched from IS350 to IS-F but my insurance with the same coverage only jumped $10 a month.

Except voiding the warranty once you auto-launch it.

I've got a 350 myself but can't imagine picking a 350 F sport over the F, especially the 2009 with the piano black center console and the new seats.
