Default New Tires Recommendation for 07 IS250???

I have about 15K on my original Bridgestone tires on my 07 IS250 RWD. When I went in to fix a flat the service guy informed me that I have about another 5K left on them. So what are my options for replacement tires? I'd like to get something comparable to the factory ones, but those seem to run like $275-$300 a tire. Are there any good alternatives that will give similar performance and not cost as much? Any feedback would be appreciated.

If those bridgestone tires are the turanzas... you do not want to get anything like it.
Anyways, some people have said pretty good things about Sumitomo HTR Z III and they are less than 1/2 the cost of most other tires.

i hate turanza tires (especially the EL42's)

check out the reviews on Tirerack.com

you can also compare prices and choose a tire from a category that best fits your driving needs.

if I had to recommend a great street tire, go for Michelin PS2 or check out Goodyear F1 Asymmetrical

Once you try those great summer tires, you're not gonna want anything less

BTW, I've got a set of F1 Asymmetricals on atm and they're pretty great!

A dissenting voice - I will probably replace my Turanzas with the same tire. I've been burned too many times selecting replacement tires based on TireRack's customer reviews and votes.

Stick with what you know, as new tires are too expensive for a crap shoot (unless you really dislike the OEM tires).

this topic has been discussed many many times. again...I would recommend the Bridgestone RE960 all season tires. They are not cheap, but it'll sure last you alot longer than the 140 tread wear that comes stock. Michelin PS2 is also a good tires too, I heard it's hard to spin out in rain, but it wouldn't last as long as the RE960. I have personal experience on the RE960, it's alot more quite and grip good.

Well, I should say "disappointed" - Kumho ASX, Bridgestone Potenza RE960 Pole Position, BF Goodrich g-Sport, any Dunlop tire - all noisy, rough riding and generally uninspiring when it comes to having a little fun. I have Conti Touring on my BMW, Turanzas on my IS250 and Michelins MXVs on the Prizm and Prius, and Integrities on the RX300 - all poorly rated on TireRack but the best tires I know of.

I'm sure the PS2s are nice tires but I'm not about to pay $1200 to find out!

My Turanzas ER33's are holding up pretty well aside of the spirited driving.
I have about 17.5k on them and they still look like I can get another 10k out of them, still plenty of thread left on the front and rear.

I take pretty hard turns on these and they grip tight, I haven't tried the PS2's yet but I know those are on my list of next tires as soon as I get my wheels.

Recommendations on tires, I would have to say Michelin PS2 & Nitto Invo.

The PS2s are NOT nice tires. Just replaced them after a measly 19K. They were noisy, rough, poor handling, and as it turns out, created a grind during a hard turn. Neither the tire dealer nor Lexus could discover anything wrong with the car but after replacing the PS2s with Uhp Exclaims, the grind is gone, the road noise minimized, it handles better including snow packed/icey roads. I found this site looking for a way to find out if the PS2s were the wrong tire for the vehicle.

kuhmo ecsta asx

can't say enough about them

go to discounttire and ask them to match the tires-easy.com price.

yokohama avid w4s is what i bought as a replacement. much quieter and much better riding than the potenza. in the snow a couple of times pretty good and much better than potenza in snow.

they seem to be reasonably priced as well.

No--get them at Costco. Michelin's are $70 off until 1/31. The $15 install fee includes road hazard. I just got a set of Pilot Sport A/S Plus for my AWD--it was $150 cheaper than getting them from Tire Rack, once you factor in shipping and the local shop's install and balancing fees. Even if you have to pay the annual fee to join--it was still cheaper.

You guys realize you're replying with tire advice to an OP who asked for help over a year ago right?

Anyway, skip the PS2s... Hankook Ventus V12 Evo- similar performance for about 50% of the cost-
