more than oil changes at toyota
I currently take my '06 350 to toyota for oil changes. Their more convenient and cheaper. However, now I'm wondering what kind of other work have people had done at Toyota. I'm getting due for a brake inspection and other things that come with 30K miles.
While on the topic, has anyone done those 30k mile services at Toyota or should I go to Lexus for those?

Alignment was done by local Toyota today . I didn't really sure they are equivalents performances vs Lexus dealer. But I had no choice.
Seems like OK and pretty quick. I may try oil change next time. Cost should be mid $30. + saving gas.......I always having service for my wife's car. but not sure if I take mine for mjr service.....

i was told by a master toyota tech(my parents good friend)that not all toyota's service men have to go through the old-school training programs they use too. so in retrospect some the quality of their service men isnt what it use to be. he was pretty livid about that fact. so idk

I used to take my Acuras to my local Honda dealer since it was about 5 miles from my house and Acura was about 25. It was owned by the same person. They could do all normal things to the car with the exception of warrantee work which the Acura dealer had to do.

I took my gen 1 IS to Toyota for a tranny flush since it was the same machine and they used TIV there. It was $100 bucks cheaper. Same with the timing belt, it was $300 cheaper for the same thing. 2JZGE was a common engine for Toyota. Basically Supra non-turbo engine. I am not sure about the gen 2, I will stick with Lexus and pay the additional fees for service I do not do myself.

Honda and Acura train their techs under the same roof and classroom. Toyota and Lexus don't even share the same roof. Training is exclusive for both. Lexus techs get training from a lot of feedback with technical and information is shared almost immediately to and from. They are networked for updates in their personal logins on whatever vehicle they are working on. Its a level of communication shared in Japan and has been implemented to excersize the best for the best.
There is a difference when you take your Lexus to a Toyota dealer. None of the Toyota dealer techs have been to a new model introduction course for a Lexus lineup like your Lexus techs have. They will have limited (if that) know how on how to work on your vehicle. Do you really want to train them on your vehicle?

I go to Toyota service as well just that I don't have a choice because the service center here in Macao are the only Toyota/Lexus service center. They charge Leuxs fee but doing Toyota job...
