Finally getting closer to my dream car!
Yup, if you saw my first post you'd know i've been waiting about 8 weeks for news on a Starfire Pearl w/nav from my dealer. He had been trying to locate it all this time.
Got a call on Monday that he has a Starfire Pearl w/nav and LUX package on Inventory Allocation. Not exactly what i wanted but for a good price I'll take it. He offers it for invoice price but I haggle down to $250 below invoice. So now i'm just waiting for a VIN#... should be getting it in 3-4 weeks?
Would i be able to use my Taste of Lexus coupon if i got it before i pick up the car or does it have to be presented at the time of negotiation?

Hmm... I was under the impression I would be getting a taste of lexus coupon after attending the event. My dealer sales guy said he wouldn't let me apply it since I asked him about it. Not sure if that means there will be one or not.

Ya, I am probably gonna receive the car before then so I tried to negotiate letting me use the coupon. It may or may not backfire... but at least I got below invoice.

I am actually disappointed at Lexus for their follow up after the Detroit car show. I attended the Detroit auto show in early 2006, and was told that I would get a coupon in the mail after filling out a form. I filled it out, but no coupon. It was supposed to be for $750 off.

yeah, that's a long time to wait. my dealer had to locate the car i wanted but it only took about a week and a half to get it. i think the time of year has a lot to do with it.

We have seen some IS250's go for $500-$1,000 below dealer invoice here in So Cal.
Im guessing your dream car is still an IS250 AWD ???
(I had to go find your 1st post )
For the time you waited you might as well have put in for a Special Order to get exactly what you wanted.

Well, they weren't taking any special orders for the 07 models anymore and a special order at the first purchase would've been 4-6 months. I can't wait that long esp when they had a possibility of getting a car sooner.
In any case, yes i got the IS250 AWD. Chicago area is a bit more stingy than california in terms of getting cars below invoice... unless i'm just not that good at negotiating haha.
