Default spoiler installation pics (drilled)

I know tape would have worked just fine by itself but my meticulous personality likes to make every project painful for myself, so I decided to follow those instructions very closely .... taping every emblem off but ignoring parts that were lost in translation (what the heck is does "it floats it" mean) So if you want to drill, read on..

If you decide to drill, one of the most important thing to know, (which I didn't know) is that the spoiler is supposed to sit flush on the trunk cover even with holes drilled. So don't trust the template 100%, you might need to enlarge the hole.
Thanks for CHRISIS for helping me with his problem with lifting as I went through the same problem.

My first attempt, the ends were 1/4" in the air until I pressed the tape on, then it held for few hours the next day the tape was starting to lift on the sides.. same as some stories of dealer install ended up this way.

This was due to the center hole alignment. Actually by filing the hole upwards, allow the spoiler ends to come down.

For the 8mm hole I used 5/16" bit
for the 2 side 12mm hole I used 1/2" bit, those gold cone shaped stepped bit is what I used.

Note that my middle hole is slotted to fix the alignment. I used white touch up paint to rust proof the exposed area, I also used silicone on the flange of the nuts to have a better seal from the inside.
I also think that don't torque the nuts too much as the stud might pop off the spoiler, I just hand tightened and gave a little nudge more.

As you can see, the edge looks pretty good and even gap all across.

That's a clean installation, mine was done by the dealership. The left side is lifting a little bit. Need to redo anytime soon.
