I don’t know what site you came from where your sort of tirades and personal attacks are commonplace, but you need to read this thread, because it is no longer acceptable around here:

Anyone know anything more about this mod? I am curious if it is a tuner or allows one to be piggybacked onto the nav. I think the real nice part is that it may be an answer for someone that wants dvd capability in the car. I wonder...

I sent an email to Tom's North American Dist in Ca and US but no one has gotten back to me for more info. Yeah I think this is too good to be true probably a way different Nav system for this to even work.

I am interested in this too. I wonder if you can use this with a DVD hack and motion hack.

• You must not drive without a valid State issued driver’s license.
• The car must meet certain environmental requirements before you can drive it.
• You must obey traffic laws like speed limits, traffic lights, stop signs, right of way, etc.
• Some mods, like very dark tints, are against the law.
• You may not drive while drunk or on some drug.
• You must have the car registered and display State issued license plates.
• You must have insurance.
• You may not watch TV or DVD’s while behind the wheel.
This may make it less than a free country to you, but we are a nation of laws, and there are valid reasons for these restrictions that benefit us all. You should be glad it is so.

Magellan,
I think you've more than adequately made your point in this thread and others, please let the thread get back on topic about the product being discussed.

For what I understand, that device could give you the ability to:
- connect an external audio/video source (composite? svhs? vga?)
- provide a switch for looking at the standard NAV video or the external "aux video".
That could be ok for me, 'cos in each country we've different TV tuners (ATSC, NTSC/PAL, DVB-T, T-DMB just to name a few...) and so it's better to be free connecting whatever we have best.
For instance in Italy I know about DVB-T and T-DMB digital TV tuners that - with a couple of tuners working together - keep on choosing the best signal for a given channel-ID while you move around the country (more or less similar to RDS radio that auto-tunes to different best frequencies while u r moving around).
If you have any more infos... thanks! ciao

I've removed several topics that were continuing the legality / preference discussion that I took earlier action on. Let the moderators do the moderating please (in this case we already had).
ALL members as I requested earlier, please get this thread back on topic please about the Tom's item being discussed.
