I still haven't found one I like either, so I'm still rocking the dealer plate frame. Not that the JM Lexus frame is chinsy. I'm just not a big fan of advertising for anyone.
Glad to see some state legislators still have some common sense. Here in the "People's Republic of Massachusetts" (also known as the home of "Fat Head Ted" and "Ketchup Kerry") there are a ton of things that can cause you to fail the annual inspection, and cops have been known to use things like license plate frames as a pretext to pull you over and see what else they can find.
I actually do want to advertise for the dealer. I live in Vegas, but i bought my car from Lexus of Mission Viejo in CA. There's only one Lexus dealer in Vegas, and they wanted $4,000 more. So I want people to see my plate and know that buying from CA is a good option.
the gold-colored frame was on my previous car (96 nissan maxima SE, dark green) and removed when i traded it in for my 2is. it matched well w/ my old car, but come time to put it on my 2is when my plates came i realized that the gold frame doesn't match w/ tungsten pearl...
next time i'm on campus, i'm definitely stopping by the bookstore for a new plate frame.
