Here's the write up on how to tap the reverse cam.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...O+DIY%21%21%21
I have a 5 year old sony Vaio laptop. I took the VGA and fed it into the Nav. Using a bluetooth mouse, I'm controlling the laptop wirelessly.
I tap the Power from cig lighter and sent it to an inverter. And plug the laptop adapter into the inverter for Power. This accomplishes two things - 1) the Power the to inverter is cut off , when the car is turned off. 2) I set the laptop to shut down on 99% Batt Power. So once the inverter goes off, the laptop will running on it's battery for 5 minutes, till it hits 99% battery then it shuts off.
I install a button next to the sunsade to power on the laptop. This was done by opening up the laptop and tapping the power button.
The sound is coming through the lexus' Aux.
The laptop is stationed in the Trunk of the car
Other then the laptop - this was done using about $25 worth of parts and wires.
PS. I also install a USB port in the glove compartment. (15ft USB cable)

Impressive - but the killer app here would be to tie in Outlook to a corporate Exchange server or ISP [GMail.com], via Bluetooth link to the phone [EVDO]. This way, one could at a minimum see incomming mail or txt messages. In theory this would be possible, but I'm not sure if this is a pic of a laptop hooked up to the Navi screen or this is a true integration w/the navi system.

Resolution for the screen is pretty crappy. Since the input is RCA video connector, not a VGA. But it's clear enough for Music and Movies. What's great is having the windows media visualization on the screen when the music is playing

Have you tried Sprint's EVDO air card? You'll be able to surf the web in your car from anywhere there is EVDO service (which is almost everywhere in an urban area). It would be nice to post threads in this forum while you're inside your car.
