I was considering it to decrease cabin noise with the sunroof open.
Hey, I paid $$$ for ML -- I might as well get the most bang for my buck.
You'll find a lot of people that will say the wind deflector is "outdated" or "old school," but if it is functional for you, then go for it. Sometimes, function precedes form...
By the way, I myself decided not to get one.

I don't understand them. If you tilt the moonroof rather than opening it all the way, the effect is essentially the same. I think it's another appearance item, just like the "window visors" people install so they can open their windows in the rain (the last thing most of us would do).
I think it all messes up the lines of the car, but if you like the appearance, then don't let someone else's opinion sway your own.

^^^sometimes you have to open your window in the rain when it fogs up. some people smoke. some people feel trapped and can't breathe. lots of people crack their windows in the rain. no everywhere does it downpour when it "rains" like it does in florida.
