i asked a dealer in Bay Area CA if i can order a 06 IS250 6mt with Sport Package

he says "you can not special order. They do not even build them that way."

i remember reading someone here says dealer can special order the specific options you like
but it looks like the option availability depends on what region you're located.

could someone clear that up for me?

i did search but couldn't find a direct answer.

i don't have an answer, but according to the lexus official web site. There is no sport pkg for 250...

IS250 >> can get it with a stick, but no sport package
IS350 >> can get it with the sport package, but no stick

I'd like to meet the marketing group that came up with that plan.

There is such thing as an IS250 6MT with sport package although i dont think you can special order. I have seen a few of them. There is a picture of the spec sheet somewhere on this forum. I cant find it. I also remember there used to be a white 250 6mt sport on ebay. Cant find that one either. They are rare and Im not sure how the owners got ahold of them.

FF you are def right about that marketing group. This is toyota we are talking about, their ideas must have reasons. i want to know what they were thinking as well.

if there can be 6mt with lux package... i don't see why there can't be a 6mt with sport package.

You can no longer Special Order the '06 model. Lexus is making the last batches of '06 right now.

Special Orders for the '07 model will begin by August. The '07s will arrive by October. You'll be able to get an IS250 with Sport (two kinds of Sport packages!!!) by then.

"not allow" and "not available" are two completely different things. They ALLOW you to special order it in any region.
