The calipers on the IS350 are really good. 4 pot front and dual distribution rears... BMW M5 uses a similar system " Naturally, BMW's most advanced braking system graces the M5. Behind the 19-inch wheels are huge 14.7-inch front and 14.6-inch rear two-piece rotors bringing the big sedan to a stop. Surprisingly, there are no four-piston calipers hiding in the front wheels. Instead, BMW chose a far less sexy dual-piston sliding-caliper design. " (edmunds)

IS350 front calipers are more advanced than the M5's front setup...Performance is in the pads and weight of the rotor. Caliper with multi pistons distribute equal braking force along the pads...The lexus is350 fronts have 4 and that is plenty. The rear brakes don't do nearly as much work as the front so they do not need large pads thus the small calipers.

I can buy brembo calipers but they won't make me stop shorter. I can buy better pads that will help me stop better. Making the rotors lighter will help me stop shorter too.

IMHO, Painting calipers red is an extremely rice move. I just told a guy that was considering powder coating his red on a M6 board the same thing.

Who gives a flock about BMW's braking system, if they didn't come red, they don't belong red.
They belong on my car =)

ah come on the guy did a nice job painting them!

There's nothing wrong with red if he likes them.

They kinda make you just focus on the calipers and distract you from the rest of the
car.. I personally like the other guy's that had those silver Lexus decals put on them

Yeah. I loved those on my C32. The AMG in black on the silver was a nice contrast. The car was silver also, so it was very clean looking.
