Exclamation Over stepping on the gas?

I just got a loaner IS 250 AWD for the night but I'll be picking up my new car tomorrow. I noticed that under the RPM gauge, sometimes an orange arc of light pops up. Does that mean I am stepping on the gas pedal too much? I just traded in my VW and also have 2 BMWs at home, none of my cars have this feature and this our family's first Lexus.

That light is adjustable. Just a little reminder for yourself indicating the specific rpm you selected via the controls to the left of the steering wheel. Btw, which dealership has a 2IS for a loaner? I'll be going for my 8000km service tomorrow.. hopefully I'll get a new IS or GS as a loaner.

Its basically the same as the BMWs audiable speed indicator warning that "dings" at you once you reach the preset MAX speed. The IS has both speed and engine rev warning but its a visual warning... the orange circles.

What 2 BMWs do you have?

Nice! That's where I'm going tomorrow. What time are you picking up your car?

When I took delivery of my car, the dealer set the two warnings to 80 MPH and 4000 RPM respectively. It's a good reminder during the break-in period. First thing I did after getting
passed 621 miles was turn those two off

I have mine set to that, too, for the break-in period. I only have 250 miles on it, so still a bit to go.

Yes, 621 miles, which is 1,000 kilometers.
