Tons of caliper rattles - no anti-rattle clips in my is
can't believe the got cheap on the brake pad and calipers
this is where all my noise is comming from when I go over the midest bumps
anyone else
i just confirmed this, my calipers are loose

Suggest a trip to your Lexus parts department to determine the correct clips and shims. Their computer could display the complete assembly for you.
The bolts holding on the caliper are loose? (17mm bolt head) They are tightened on the front caliper to 86 Ft Lbs.

i've had a feeling lately that the 2is might be the car that shows where lexus/toyotas manufacturing process is getting a little more slack than typical. toyota has addressed it saying they are trying to expand production capacity without error, and its a difficult task. then again, its a first year car...
i hope any changes they make on the 07 to minor imperfections (a la rear view shaking) will be upgradeable on the 06

I think you might be a little confused. If the portion of the caliper that's solidly mounted is loose, then aside from a dangerous situation, you just need to tighten the mounting bolts.
However, since you're also referring to anti-rattle shims, which have absolutely nothing to do with how the calipers are mounted, I'm assuming what you really mean are that the pads are rattling.
