this antenna will only look good if it's functional? no one here will care if the reception is good or not.

let me try to understand people's logic:
functional shark = looks great
non-functional shark = looks lame
reception on functional shark = who cares.

I don't care for the BMW shark fin design even on BMWs. Lexus should do something similar to the 06 Vette and hide the XM antenna in the outside rear view mirrors.

Only ONE IS250 in Taiwan got the headlight washer. That one is the first IS250 imported into Taiwan for the commercial.

So the model in the commercial is also in Taiwan. She is really HOT

Hi Darrel, many thanks to your Rear Spoiler. Me and my friends like it very much. We can't wait to buy the other body kits

Thumbs down

I really like it, but i dont want to try and give BMW owners the thought, that i would rather be driving their "overpriced" car .... However, i would'nt mind a BMW M5, but then again why pay that much, when i could take a VW Golf and supe it up... lol off topic?

I like the fin on the BMW's that I have seen in person and I bet the fin will look better in person on the IS than in pics. Kind of how I think the IS, itself, looks better in person than in the pics.

I prefer the subtle low profile antennas that are about 1/4th of an inch tall, or the ones that come on the Acura TL.

Me, personally, I'm not really feeling it to much. I think it takes away from the luxury look of the car. It looks more like a BMW (As mentioned earlier) But then again, if you enjoy it, and make the note on it every month, then it matters not what we think! I do like the rear spoiler on the trunk. I have the same on my car, and it looks great!

I think the sharkfin actually adds to the luxury look. All higher end cars have them (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc.), while most lower end cars do not. I also think its rakish design compliments the sleek lines of today's cars (can you imagine a shark fin on the boxy cars from the 1970s and 1980s?!).

Also, when you have satellite radio you must have an external antenna. A sharkfin is the best way to go - far better looking than the ugly black box Lexus now sticks on your trunk. That looks like a total afterthought. Kudos to Lexus for finally adding the sharkfin for 2007 (if previous reports are true).

Those cars have them because they're FUNCTIONAL. Adding an antenna because you like the looks of it? ooooook then.

Wrong.

The best antenna is no (visible) antenna.

I don't believe all sharkfins are functional. My friend has a new BMW 325 and has no sat radio or navigation. I don't think the sharkfin does anything, but it's probably cheaper to build all the cars with them.

As for the look, I personally wouldn't add a sharkfin. But I have no problem if somebody does. It's no different than adding a rear spoiler, which also has no function and is strictly cosmetic.

My understanding is the BEST place to put a sat radio antenna is on the outside of the car. I think that is also what Lexus recommends (that is why the antenna is magnetic, to stick on the trunk). Sure, you can place it in the car. But my dealer said they don't recommend it and reception in some areas will go down.

Your opinion. I disagree. I like the sharkfin (when functional).
