Default What Does Lexus Charge to Plug A Tire

Had a tire that had a slow leak, plugged by the Lexus Dealership.

They "only" charged $25.00 for this service.

I'm curious what other folks might pay Lexus for plugging a hole in a tire.

They should have done it for free. Most tire places if you buy the tires from them will do it for free. Road Hazard tire insurance is great not sure if it comes on new cars. I know costco or tire dicount centers usually plug holes for free.

Was it a plug or a patch? A plug should cost like $10. A patch, $20 or so. I would def perfer a patch.

Go to Americas Tire and tell them you will buy your next set of tires there but in the meantime you need your tire fixed. I had the same problem, slow leak. They fixed my tire for free with a plug and a patch. No more leak for me.

I had my is for two weeks and I needed a plug from some road damaged and it cost $45. I asked why and they said due to labor. BS I called Lexus Cust Service and got no where with them. Do not take your car to Lexus of Nashville.

I used to work for tire shop and we charged 20 bucks. 10 for fix and 10 for balancing. If you buy the tire from them it's free of charge.

I recommand you buy road hazard from like Goodyear, Just tires, American Tires, etc... they should fix tires for free with road hazard purchased and if it's not repairable, they will replace it for free.

oh yea, don't plug tires cuz that's something gas station use, and it's cheap. it doesn't hold most of the time.

Make sure you tell them to dismount the tire and put a plug patch from inside. after that mount the tire and rebalance the wheel. you have to rebalance because the patch and the grind up part of the rubber will throw the weight off.

one more thing, if you know your tire is flat even just a bit, don't drive it. Even 1 mile of driving with flat tire will damange your side wall. anything damage or a nail that's on the side wall is not repairable. Lets say, it's not safe to patch side wall because the patch can come off.

CostCo no longer repairs tires for free unless you bought them there. Discount Tire repairs them for free regardless.

Lesson of this thread: don't go to the dealer to fix a tire.
