I think someone already has it on his IS. I think I have seen dynos somwhere on this forum, but i think there was only a 3 hp and 3 tq gain. I think ill pass at those numbers and wait for a REAL CAI.

Yes,
I was one of the people that got an intake of this type and did some dyno's. I can tell you from experience the intakes DO NOT MAKE POWER! They actually cause you to lose power on the dyno, not sure about on the road driving. I consistently made -10hp/tq on the dyno with the new intake until I decided to add a second fan to direct more airflow towards the new intake. Guess what!? Car made about 2-3 more hp then stock until 6000rpm where it was making less then stock.
Not to mention the intakes are noisy, which is a good or bad thing depending on your tastes.

Was this dyno taken right after install or did you drive around about 500 miles first?

quote from my original thread "I forgot to mention that there was no disconnecting of the battery before any of the dyno's or after. Original baseline dyno was done a few weeks ago, installed the LMS intake over a week ago and have about 300miles on the car with the LMS intake so my ECU has learned the new intake modification and has adjusted appropriately. These are real results with no tricks played like doing a dyno right after installing the intake or resetting the ECU, which almost always yields gains due to the car running leaner until the ECU learns."

That’s why I asked, the correct way to do it is dyno the car then replace the intake then reset the ecu then drive car 500 miles then come back and dyno. The other issue is because is it’s a different day with different tempratures and what not means that there is no possible way to correctly dyno for results. In addition there has been one person from .net that found he could change the dyno results by moving the fan direction on the front of the car and it changed the results as much as 10 WHP...
