I think he's comparing against the new 2007 G35 sedan, which has the same 306 hp as the IS350. The new G35 coupe won't come till at least next fall so we'll see then.

That's ok if it doesn't finish, one could always use the results from a previous (uh..um 3xx) test, include an opinionated catagory such as the gotta-have-it column, and assume what could have occurred. Who cares if and when you step on the brakes the car does a complete 360...perfect time to get a true sense of the cars sportiness and feel.

I regress, let's just spare ourselves the pain and re-crown the obvious King of all Kings!

I kind of think it is a silly comparison, as someone interested in an IS350 would look at a 330i rather than a 335i. Lexus does not offer this type of car (yet). It is just as silly as comparing a 330i with an ES350.

In this case, I was being sarcastic. However, like many on this board I don't hate/detest/loath any other automaker, with the exception of Hyduai (sp) (bad early experience).

IMHO, with the exception of Consumer Reports, if you will, all of these so called auto enthusiast rags gave the BMW a free pass in the latest comparison to the IS350, hence my King of Kings comment.

No worries...enjoying my IS350!

The 335 was introduced to compete against the 350, the new G35, etc. All 3 will happen to have the same hp 300+ bhp rating. I don't see it as silly at all. If I was in the market for the 350, I'd look at the 335, not the 330.

Not silly at all. 3 series coupe or convert are both in the same legue. You can totally compare it!

Before I got the IS I was considering waiting for the 335Ci. But because I already have a 545 the interior will be basically the same I didnt want another BMW and decided to give Lexus a shot.

Have you heard of people trying to decide between a 5 seriers or a 3 series... you can compare a lot of stuff.

If somebody wants a sport sedan why would they look at a coupe? I think that the twin turbo coupe and V8 M3 is more of a response to the BMW customers wanting more power and less due to a response to the G35 and IS350. I mean sure, people might consider a mini-cooper too, but a sport sedan is a sport sedan and a coupe is a coupe.

The 335 is going to be offered in both a coupe and sedan.

I think as of now I think for the most part people just want to know if they can smoke the new bimmer 3 series or be smoked by it.... I don't think folks here really are seriously comparing the 2 as if they were in the market for the 350 or the 335 coupe. In any case hopefully if and when lexus decides to release the new 350 coupe they'll respond appropriately with the upgraded power just like how Infiniti raised the g35 coupe's hp over the sedans hp when it got released.

It has been testet by 5-6 magazines here in Europe. No big tests, but som testdrives.

They all says: Strong and very smooth, but "boring" with almost linear power delivery. No turbo feeling at all. The performance is very similar to the M3.

Some dont exactlly need the extra 2 doors and are open to either a sedan or a coupe. And the IS 350 replaced a MINI Cooper S. So there are people that are in the market for a IS 350 sedan OR A BMW 335 Coupe. So hence they need to compare the two.
