sewell price was $28/ea. not sure if that's the standard CL discounted price. i purchased chrome wheels at the same time. shipping was $7 for the whole order, wheels included.

it looks like the chrome frames went down in price since i bought them. i think they were $44 or something when i bought them about 6 months ago, now they are only $33 before discount. discounted price is $29. the same ones are going for $50+ at my local dealer!!

here are the pics of the frames on the cars (RX has chrome dealer plates). the lighting in the pics is a little wacky; i was facing the sun and the camera kept trying to use flash, so i turned it off. anyway, you get the picture!!
hope the pics help you. IMO, they aren't that crazy or redundant. i don't think people notice it most of the time unless they are looking, in which case the frames just look like another part of the car instead of dealer advertising <<in case you are wondering, both of these came from Lexus of Glendale >>
