Water pump going bad??
Hey guys,
I just want your guys input on something i just noticed recently that my 2008 lexus is250 with 87000KM (54000 miles) is making a slurping and knocking noise, so i assumed it was my water pump, But i took it to my mechanic and he was saying that its the rocker arms (i think) but im well aware that our engines do make knocking sound naturally, So is this sound all from the water pump. He also pointed out that the idle pulling was making noise, but then i again im certain its the water pump.
Just wanted your guys input before I do anything.
here is a video

Remove the S -belt and crank it for a very short time, that will answer your question if it is in a tensioner or waterpump. You can also buy a stethoscope and put it on all parts, it works big time.

Yeah my mechanic did use a stethoscope, and pointed out that the idle pulley was making a noise, but isn't that in front of the water pump? And there is no pink coolant anywhere.
Also is the tapping noise from the injector area normal, especially that loud?

There is a bearing in the water pump, If you remove the serpentine belt and crank the car nothing will turn and then you start isolating the noise. I personnally have found with the stethoscope that you touch a few areas around and when you hit the bad part you will know.
