If you just forked out some money in maintenance (especially tires) make sure that you talk to your adjuster about that before you sign the title over. I just went through this with my old car (it was rear-ended and totaled) and I got an extra $500 out of my insurance company because of new tires and maintenance I just did on it. Never hurts to ask. That extra cash can help with your next IS

No worries!!! I bought a Honda Pilot on a no reserve eBay auction in '09...it was in FL. Luckily, Hubby was racing his go-kart at Daytona 10 days later and drove it home for me. (We both got what we wanted that Christmas!)

And we road-tripped to Houston in our beater Civic to pic up the IS last fall. (Ugliest but sweetest mannered $400 car ever!) I wish I'd had a pic of the guys face when we pulled the Civic onto his exotics lot--LOL! He got over it once he realized I was carrying a check. Why drive a gas hog (Suburban) when you can get there for 1/2 the price?

That said, I'm not driving anywhere until I can wear a seatbelt w/o wanting to scream...but I can still ride in the passenger seat

Here is what was hiding under the "pretty" crunched up parts. Sorry that I don't know the proper names for the parts, but the long silver rail that sits behind the bumper...isn't supposed to be wavy. And, it's kinda supposed to be centered as well I've overexposed a couple of pics so that you might be able to see the supports behind the rail. Ouch!!!-2014-06-25-14.12.19.jpg
