My front tires' sides are worn out at 9K miles. The dealer quoted a ridiculous price for replacement tires. Might just wait and pick up some aftermarket rims lol. :P
They said I needed an alignment, but they supposedly already gave my car one at 7k miles....

Yep, my fronts look just about like those in the previous poster's pics. Mine gave me a "low tire" warning, so I was lucky enough to see it before it caused an accident. I pulled off one wheel in order to take it to the tire shop, thinking I'd get it plugged until I "needed" to get new tires. Well, I sure need them now. I was shocked at how bad they looked. 25,300 miles on them. Hated those tires ( 17" Bridgestone RE92s) anyway-too hard and noisy. I will definitely have the alignment set to "my" specs when the new ones are installed.

Hey guys i am going in to the dealership tomorrow for the same problem any suggestions on how i should argue this topic? This is a pretty serious problem, many of us could just be driving normally and end up in an accident because of Lexus's failure. I am hoping to get new tires and everything fixed for free since it is Lexus's problem. Any advice on how i should talk to them about this problem?

By the way is there anyway we can file a complaint together or petition or something where such examples like the TSIB brakes were changed complimentary, i am sure this can be considered a recall problem.

I tried to get something going like this a year and a half ago when my front tires did the same thing at 18,000 miles. There is no doubt in my mind that this issue can be pushed with Lexus until a TSIB is issued but it will take time to do & I had to replace my tires right away since I had steel belts showing. When the 350Z first came out it had a simular problem. Nissan replaced tires & changed alignment settings free of charge. What has happened to " The relentless pursuit of perfection" ??

i just went to the dealership and they basically said something along the same lines its normal wear and tear, but thats ridiculous the inside of the front one is completely worn out and its the problem with lexus's alignment. I told them many people have the same problems and its a typical issue with the IS250 and 350 but they denied it and stated that it is not known. I am waiting for a department specialist from HQ to contact me back for more information regarding this. I told them it was a manufacturers problem and they blamed it on me stating that the alignment can be easily messed up. They said that something as simple as hitting a sidewalk lightly will mess up the alignment and thats just ridiculous. I feel as if, since toyota is having so many problems Lexus is trying to save as much money as possible. I believe if everyone here that has the problem can give lexus a call and complain about it and we try to reach out to other forums such as my.is we may be able to get something goin like the TSIB brake pads. For those who are willing to spend a little time to contact HQ the number is 1800-255-3987 and it would be option #3. I am extremely annoyed that I have to spend couple hundred dollars fixing a problem which I have nothing to do with. I only have about 27,000 miles with the rear tires being in excellent shape, the front would also be in excellent shape if it wasn't for the interior. Lexus also stated that forums, do not show much evidence and can not and will not be accounted for. "You probably drive the same your friends and forum" as we are crazy drivers, but that is not possible since my rear is still in great condition considering the car is a RWD.

Same thing has happened to me. My tires had 25000 miles on them and the thread is at 6/32 in the center but completely worn out in the inner shoulder. I went in to Lexus of Seattle and had them check out my alignment and everything looked fine, yet still i had inner thread wear. All figures within spec. The Lexus customer service was not very helpful and all the information they would give me is that it is normal wear. I will be calling Lexus and filing a complaint.

Count me in......just saw that my front two tires had the inner portion shredded down to the metal wires. But the middle and outer blocks looked like they had at least another 5K to 10K miles left. So, I went for an alignment after replacing the tires and what do you know, perfect alignment within specs.

It looks like we're on to something here. I lost my tires at 20k for this exact reason. Inner wear was horrible and I kept getting the "low tire" warning. It wasn't until I went to Discount Tire that the guy there showed me and asked me to feel the inside of the tire that I was shocked. The rest of the tire looked fine. hmmmmm

I'm in the same boat, at 16k miles on my tires. Got 28k out of my IS350's stock tread. We need to start a complaint, if nothing else, get them to throw in a free alignment that will change the toe to prevent uneven wear. Who's in?

Has anyone had their car re-aligned at a reputable alignment shop?
How much was it for them to adjust the toe in more, to reduce inner tire wear? How much did you toe it in?
My car is the same way, but only on the front driver-side. I don't drive my vehicle "hard" at all, but can definitely tell the tire is wearing unevenly.
