Foglight housing is burning hot after a drive, is this normal?
Last night I drove about 2 hours with the foglights on (totally stock). When I got home I touched the foglight housing/cover and its was burning hot, too hot to touch for more than 2 seconds. Is this normal?
Strange since the HID housing is only slightly warm after the drive.

HID generates less heat than tungsten bulb, so of course it's not as hot. Fog light housing is smaller than headlight's, so it can get pretty hot after 2 hours, plus there is more air moving over the headlights to cool them.

Yea its normal. I started a thread on this a while back when I changed my fog lights. I thought it was due to the new bulbs, but after putting one of the stock ones back in and leaving it on for a little while I found that it did the same. So yea, its perfectly normal. They run really hot.
