Default Tire sizes

I've got my 2002 Lexus is300 lowered 1.5 front and rear. I have 225/40r18 on the front and 255/40r18 on the rear. The rims are stock gen2 is350 18s not sure of width or off sets. Already have fenders rolled in rear and want to put some wider tires on the rear. Anyone have any insight on the widest tire I can stuff back there. I'm thinking 285/40r18. Anyone done that with success or failure?

That's a lot of tire.

How much power do you put down?

I'm not turbo yet I'm not doing it for grip I just like the way cars look with really wide tires on the back.

I have 19" with 275 on stock suspension. They use to rub but after roll and pull I was able to drive rub free. I don't recommend going anymore wider since your car is lowered.

And no my car does not look like a 4x4. I have a heavy system in the back that gives it a decent drop
