Farewell to the best car I ever owned
I just sold me first Lexus, a 2001 IS300, blue. I got it in the summer of 2003 and we've been rolling strong ever since. I loved this car. In over 10 years there was only one occasion where I turned the key and it didn't start and that was because the ignition switch broke (fixed by Lexus under warranty). The car rolled like a tank and even when it finally started to show its age it still pulled strong and taught lessons to more than a couple of motorists who thought they could speed up and prevent me from passing.
I recently picked up a 2007 IS250 and to be honest, I don't believe it's as well made as the original IS. Don't get me wrong, it's a good car, but to me it doesn't feel near as solid as my Gen1.

I worked at a dealer where an original owner traded in his 2002 is300 sportcross and got a 2009 is250. He came back a week later and hated the car. He wanted his old one back. Wasnt happening because I bought it the day after he traded it
