As far as i know, isnt the main difference between synth and conventional just sludge (assuming not tracking the car)?
I always thought change intervals would be the same

well detergents and otehr chemicals for one, theres also something with the actual size of the oil molecules themselves being uniform instead of random, i dont remember it all but you could find out from bobistheoilguy.com
