Camshaft sprocket question about my 01 IS
I need to replace my camshaft seals since they are leaking and was wondering about the beefy sprocket that I assume is for the VVTI. Is there anything special when taking that one off or something to be careful about? I have taking sprockets off before and I just zap off the bolt and remove it but that one side looks like it might be a little more complicated. Any help would be appreciated. Need it done asap since it is leaking oil everywhere. Also, anyone know where to get a GOOD but cheap on price timing belt kit? That possibly includes the belt, tensioner, roller, water pump, ect? Thanks!

If it is anything like the 2GS then you'll need a 14mm hex to take the first bolt out to get access to the second 10mm hex bolt. The second bolt (10mm hex) is the bolt that actually hold the the whole VVTi pulley to the cam shaft. Don't take those 5 small bolts that lines the perimeter of the pulley off unless your VVTi pulley is leaking oil and you're repairing the leak (yes, this is possible without buying a new pulley.) If you're taking the 5 small bolts out, all that you're doing is taking out the front half of the pulley.
