false unless the car is poorly built/tuned.
if it is the N/A 2jzge engine with a turbo kit slapped on, it depends on how much boost it will be able to hold.
for instance: stock engine, stock internals, stock everything, you are looking to hit peak boost @ 7 psi with no problem. That is, with a tune and fuel pressure regulator. Any higher, and you risk blowing the engine.
upgraded internals, i.e. upgraded HG/pistons/rods/head studs, then you are looking to safely boost 12+ psi easy. but with more than 7-8+ psi, then engine management becomes an issue. a piggy back will only get you as far as my first example (which is what i am currently running). the IS300 ECU cannot adjust fuel trims to match with more than 7-8+ psi without going too lean, even with a fuel pressure regulator.
find out more information on this car and let us know.
1. how many miles are on the motor (after the build)?
2. what engine management is currently being used and who tuned it?
3. engine work: upgraded or stock?
4. parts? turbo, EMS, etc.
5. price they're asking?
N/A-T IS300's can be fast and just as reliable when built/tuned correctly. My IS300-T @ 6psi was able to walk on an SRT-4 who was trying to race me - no offense to you at all, just letting you know how much power a simple kit/tune will get the car running at.

i'm actually also new to this forum, also looking to swap jdm 2jzgte engine with maybe r154 or if i find for a good prize getrag 6speed. was wondering how much i would be able to push with stock jdm ecu and what kind of piggy back people use. (the best bang for the buck) deals. also if people upgrade to usdm 2jzgte injectors or run stock jdm injectors, and what potential do they have. thanks
