error 3/ cd jammed fixed successfully.
so many have had the error 3 or the problem with cd's not wanting to eject and such. this weekend i had that error, and ive fixed it before but this time during disassembly i accidentally popped off 2 vital springs. they connected from the top aluminum pressure plate down underneath all the cd's somewhere. so i wasnt able to figure out where they attach. well with the help of a fellow local member who gave me his, i was able to find this fix. (his replacement he gave me also had similar problems, and i fixed it also)
remove the radio from the car. on the back of it are 2 small screws, with those removed you are able to lift up and remove the top panel exposing the guts of the cd changer. most of the errors i ever got were because of a misloaded cd or a cd that fell from its perch and wasnt sitting correctly in the cd trays.(when i bought my car i found a 7th disc shoved in there.
during the removing of old cd's and realignment of the black cd holders. it is possible that the springs holding down the top aluminum plate( below) could pop loose. thanks to a fellow colorado is300 owner junks i was able to get running again. if you remove all the cds and look straight down you will see a guide area that goes left to right. the springs connect to the pressure plate then connect to each other sitting in this recessed area.
hope this helps someone.

Thanks.
I have a CD that is jammed in there, but its not interfearing with anything. But the only slot that I know that works is slot 1. Im sure I can put more CD's in there, but I dont want any problems, since I have CD's and I know slot 1 works. But only 10% of my CD's or brand new CD's work. If its scratched it wont work. But before the 1 CD that got stuck in htere, it played over 75% of my CD's.
So if I do this, will it play my scratched CD's again?

Hi there, new to this. Recently bought a 2004 is300 and when I tried a CD on 6-cd changer, got error 3. Read some threads suggesting to disconnect battery to hopefully re-set it. After dc battery for about 15 min, CD player not working at all. Any suggestions?

My 2005 LS430 had Error 3 message. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for a 15 minutes, then reconnected it and the CD player started working fine again. Need to leave the battery disconnected for at least 15 minutes. This method won't work if the battery is disconnected and immediately reconnected. System needs a little time for the electrical connections to reset. You will need to reset your saved radio stations. Try disconnecting battery before even attempting removal of CD player from dash.
