A few years back I got some replacement shells from ebay and had them cut locally.
Now I find myself in the same situation with cracked key housings, bought a few shells from dealextreme for $3.40 something shipped each;
short; http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16361
and a couple of the switchblade ones off ebay. Need to go find someone to cut them locally, don't expect it to run anywhere close to $40 per key. (last time the local locksmith charged me $10 per key to cut them.)
also have a longer version; http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16362
of course, this assumes you cracked your key housing as the lexus key is known for and that you still have the transponder module. if not... it's gonna cost more.
