AC trouble 02 IS300
I have been having an on going ac issue with it not blowing cold. Initially discovered a leak in the condenser and had it replaced. Charged the system and no leaks, everything held strong. Compressor engaged and ac blew cold.
2 months later, it started blowing hot again. Pressure was good, compressor clutch was not engaging. Dealership said expansion valve. Fine, replaced expansion valve. Blew cold for two days then back to hot. Dealer vac'd and charged again. Have been through multiple rounds of this, but long story short, the compressor has tested fine and after every time the system is recharged it works great for a day. Compressor engages, and it blows cold for hours. After day two compressor stops engaging. Hooking it up to the ac machine and testing the pressure will sometimes cause the compressor to engage again.
Dealer pulled codes and there was nothing there. Wants to start replacing parts randomly, which I would love to avoid. Have also had it four other shops. The other shops want to replace the compressor. Dealer has said it is fine. Once engaged the clutch spins effortlessly. Does not overheat and works for as long as we need it to. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated.

your dealership is an idiot. do they not use the dye leak to find out where is leaking?
take it to different shop to get second opinion. when your freon is slow in the system, the compressor will not engage and it is very likely because you have leak somewhere. i learned it from a hard way

plan and simple...you have a leak. Bring it to another shop.
If the compressor doesn't kick on, then you have no or low pressure.
