Got an IS300 today!
I got a 2002 gray pearl IS300 with about 147,000 miles, auto tranny.. today for $7500 cash, about $9000 after fees, tax, insurance, etc. Test drove it, runs like a champ and looks very clean too! Had a 1992 SC300 before this clocked at almost 300,000 miles and was it good running condition when I sold it. I'm very satisfied with it, the only thing wrong with it is that the CD changer doesn't work.. Won't read any cd but that can be fixed with an aftermarket player later. Also minor imperfections here and there but nothing big and noticable. The car also seems to be lowered mildly as well Just finished detailing the inside of the car, here are some night pictures below. Sorry, doesn't really show the whole car but i'll post daytime pics later.

Yup, factory spolier with brake lights. Also polished up the badges and got rid of most of the rust on the exhaust tip.

Ya, the mileage turned me off too.. I was originally gunna finance a 2004 Toyota MR2 Spyder with 60,000 miles but my dad said he is willing to pay for most of the car if I buy the IS300 instead since it's more pratical for everyday use. So done deal, just need to buy some goodies now.. Getting a new cd player/mp3 player next.

As long as the timing belt and and water pump have been replaced, the 2JZGE engine is a champ that will last forever. You bought an awesome car. I clocked about 90k on my gen 1 with no issues other than the cd player which is no biggie. Make sure to only use Toyota T-IV fluid in the auto tranny. Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Well I plan to keep the car clean, I ordered window visors earlier today! Next up, I wanna get the s2000 antenna and change out the radio/cd unit. I want a system that matches my oem interior lighting though, would you guys be able to recommend me something with a good price? I will be using the mp3/ipod feature the most.
Here's one I found that looks like oem lighting.

welcome!~
keep up on the maintenance and you should be fine.
ive been doing lots of research on audio gear. keep in mind if you change from oem radio/cd you will have to replace the rear 6x9's because of the uniqueness of them. but if you do get a new deck(with ipod integration) and an amp, and new 6x9's it should sound fantastic. or you could buy another deck off ebay(its easy to install) and then buy a vais technology ipod adapter.....and it sounds fantastic and keeps the oem look.
either way you have a great car. welcome to the family.
here are some other easy maintenance things that you can do:
clean your MAF
Reset your ECU:
1.) turn off car
2.) remove negative battery terminal
3.) leave for 10 min
4.) replace terminal
5.) start car and drive it!
*it will relearn how you drive and adjust your ecu
Try Trac On/off
some have noticed slight hesitation so you can try the car with the trac on/ or off and see how you like it. have fun!
Replace Airfilter
clean is better than dirty
k&n drop in is better than a clean OEM
Aftermarket intake system is better than a drop in
SRT intake/ECU piggyback wins ALL!
cabin filter is probably dirty. open the glove box, push together the inside, it will flip down. if you look straight back you will see a panel that says "up" remove it and slide out the old cabin filter. Sometimes pepboys will have them otherwise you can goto toyota and they can get you one.
I also used Seafoam in the engine. That seemed to help a lot. Just need an oilchange, and replace your spark plugs afterwards.
oh and check and make sure your bulbs are all functional. I had 2 burnt out that i didnt even know about. there are 2 little bulbs 1 per side in your low beam. they are 168 size and lightup when you have your parking lights on.
