just purchased/and hissing noise when foot on break pedal
NewB here, just got an 02 black on black with 80k miles...my question is, how many people are there with 80k miles? and how are your cars running? Also I noticed when i press on the break pedal and im at a dead stop, i hear a hissing noise, like air is being leaked out until i let go of the break..is that normal??never heard that before on any of my cars. Thank you

I have over 120k miles on my 01. Never heard of what your talking about. But of course I have my music on.
Oh and your fan will come on a lot. thats normal. Also check out my.IS and you will find all your answers. I really encourage you to search first, as the members there dont like newbie questions. Or you can go to ISFanatics.com. There friendlier, but still a new forum.
Good Luck and see you around

upon reading the title, my guess would be the brake pads are shot. but that doesnt seem to be the case after reading more.
but if it sound like air, check your hoses.
by chance would you happend to have an aftermarket intake? if you do, then its the intake just sucking in air. you dont hear it when you're on the throttle because its sucking a lot more air in, so its not a hiss-ing sound.
