Hey everyone!!! Just thought I would pass along some updated info on the dash kit for the IS300. Scosche is the company that is making the dash kit for replacing the stock radio with a aftermarket one. I have seen alot of pics out there of people already making their own and some look awesome!! This kit from Scosche will just make it easier to replace the stock radio so you won't have to have one custom made. They said they are about 6 months away from releasing it and it is looking great!! Just thought I would pass along this new info for anyone that is interested in a easy way to replace the stock radio without paying through the nose to have someone make one for them. Also on a side note, I have just finished installing a Navigation system in my IS300 and just need to finish the mold for the top of the dash where the monitor now resides. I will post some pics of it when it is all done which I am hoping will be the end of next week. I would like it to be sooner but I do have a job that must come first to afford the car!!! And last but not least, when is the next So. Cal meet? It would would be great to put a face with all the names that are on here!!! See ya!

navigation system
If you have a 01 or 02 IS-300 can you get the factory motorized navigation system and install it later?
I know this is a factory installed option, but It would be cool if I could add this at a later date when I have extra
money.
Is yours aftermarket? Got any info on it?

The factory Navigation for the 2002 will cannot be fitted to the 2001 model. It is a bummer but I did get a chance to use one in the 2002 today and I liked the monitor that motorizes around but found that using the controls to be a bit cumbersome. The one that I have is from Kenwood. It uses a 8 inch widescreen monitor and the entire Navigation system is controlled by just touching the screen. It really is an incredible piece of hardware and I will see if I can put the link in so you can get all the specs. Check back and I will try to post some pics when it is all done. I will probably start a new thread will all the info in it.

If you did not get it to begin with then from what I understand it can be added later on. I would go and check it out first before you buy it. I did like it but I did not like the controls. Once you use a touch screen Nav, then it is hard to use a control panel. See ya!
