New to the Forum. 1st time Lexus Owner
Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forum, and this is my first Lexus!
Im from Saskatchewan, Canada. I drive a 01 IS300, picked it up in december with only 43km on it!
Pearl White, tinted out
TRD Brakes
TRD Suspension
Greddy Air Divirsion Panel
Injen Heatshield
M3 Trunk spoiler
and I just ordered 20" Twenty Inches Strong TIS 07's (20x7.5 front, 20x8.5 rear on Nittos)
I hope I dont get too hammered on for getting 20's,
Ive always had tuner cars and just wanted to go a different direction. Its an automatic, so if it was 5 speed I would have probably turbo'd it (I just traded off my Comptech Supercharged RSX Type S on it)
I also manage the import/sport compact division of Performance Plus, which is a local shop located in Saskatoon. We have a chassis dyno (only one in the province) and are a v8 based shop (although im changing that slowly!! )
Im looking forward to learning alot from this forum!
FIRST NOOB QUESTION........How can I get better gasmilage??? Anything??

I've read on the my.is forums that intakes (especially the ones with a stand alone fuel manager like the SRT) can help with the gas mileage. I don't have first hand experience tho... I know our cars run relatively rich and perhaps you can lean it our, but beware of wandering A/F ratios and detonation.
Good Luck!

Awesome! Congrats! And great color choice I might add. I would suggest getting an intake, when I had a prototype on my car for a while it helped me a bunch. 20's won't help with gas mileage either will they? Especially if they are chrome and heavy. Or does it matter. For some reason I wanna say I've heard that since 20's are generally heavier it eats gas. And just cause your IS isn't 5MT doesn't mean you can't boost it. There are a lot of guys and girls that have boosted IS's that aren't MT. So you have no excuse. We'll see ya in a couple of months with a turbo. I won't doubt it. lol

Congrats on the car. Be sure to post pics up of your IS once you get the 20's mounted. I haven't seen an IS with 20's that I liked so hopefully yours will break that trend.

Thanks for the welcome guys. And Ya I am looking into an intake, but I want somthing like what ARC makes for hondas. somthing that almost looks factory. or somthing carbon. Its nice working at a shop so I can get everything at cost, I saved a ton on my wheels! haha. If anyone has any suggestions on intakes please give me some input!
On the weekend I put in my greddy air divirsion panel, injen heatshield and the m3 spoiler. here are some pics...
And heres a side shot with my crappy winter wheels on it

congrats and welcome aboard..!
as for improving gas mileage - get rid of the 20s, intake will help slightly, drive like a granny, etc...
the IS is not known for getting great gas mileage
and actually the more mods you do, the mpg mileage will prob go down becuz you'll actually drive it harder/faster
btw - the car looks nice..!

Look into the Joe Z intake. You wouldnt even really know it's there.
