Default Hi I'm new and already have a wiring problem. HELP!

Hi. I just got an is 300 and it is great. I love it. However the person I bought it from didn't tell me the headlight was out. I got an HID kit to put in some new HID bulbs. After lots of work and testing my friends and I realized that one of the major plugs that plugs in the headlight has no power which is why the HID bulb wont work for that headlight only.

Does anyone know the best approach to resolve this issue and is there anyone near Phoenix, AZ that could work on this stuff without me having to go spend tons of money at the dealer. Please help. Thanks.

New HID ballast. www.my.IS has members in Arizona. Go to the regional forums and someone might be able to help you.

Sorry, new ballast is the only way around

Would I be able to use aftermarket ballasts or do I need to go to the dealer. the dealer wants 1300 for one ballast.

You can wire in an aftermarket ballast and it will be fine. You will have to mod the housing a bit. You may want to check ebay for these oem housings if you do not want to get mod intensive. The main thing is sealing the headlight housing to avid moisture. it is best to remove the whole composite assembly on the 1gen. You must remove the front bumper skin to do so.
