Radiator Failure
Well at 77,300 miles the radiator started leaking. I would see small round spots of antifreeze in the garage. So called the local dealer and got a price of $950 installed for a OEM replacement and labor plus tax do it would be over a grand.. Called a different auto repair company that only does Japanese vehicles and they said about $650 with a OEM radiator and new cap plus tax. So drove it in and had them check, yep split tank, new estimate with tax $705. Told them go for it and call when done. The fellow i talked with said they are normally 25 to 30% under the dealer on just about everything using Lexus parts. Seems they were telling the truth.

Yes, agreed, shop around. The radiator can be had for around $100 and the rest is labor, I ordered mine from Rock Auto.com and installed. not easy job, but I have had worse. With coolant and radiator was about $150.

I also priced Rock Auto for prices, but have no place that I can work on the car where I live. In the old days I had a shop and would have tackled this without a second thought. Times have changed and now I write check or use a card to get things done.
