extended warranty
I just purchased a new 2013 RX 450h. The dealer tried to upsell me a 7/75K extended warranty (platinum) for $4200. I was interested in an extended warranty however that price seems absurd. I thought it was so goofy t that I told them I would work with other dealers to get a better price.
Any one know of other dealers that sell these extended warranties at a better price. When I Googled I saw a dealer and sales person in Kansas mentioned but that was from 2012.
I iwll likely keep the car for 10 or so years. My previous car was a 2004 Camry XLE. Still have it (135 K) and it still runs great. Aside for rountine maintenace, I have put in a new timing belt and brakes - that's it in 10 years.
Thanks for any tips regarding owning my first Lexus.

Extended warranties are not worth it. You're better off investing that money in a savings account just in case you need it for a repair. Chances are, you won't need to spend it. This car is reliable.
