Very Weird...
There was like 40 celsius today here in Switzerland...crazy.
After a while of driving,i noticed that there was a sound coming from the rear, where the speakers are.Sound like a Fan turned on...then i climbed in the back to inspect and yes it looks like some kind of a Fan kicked in.
What could this be?Is it maybe a Battery fan?do we have something like that in our Hybrids???

That is crazy how it never came on until today. And it was even hotter like a month ago down in Greece.

the fan runs quite a lot. it has different speeds. you must have heard it on its high speed. it will happen more often with the a/c on recirculate. Same reason why it's recommended to turn the smog sensor sensitivity setting down to level 2 of 7 unless you're particularly sensitive to smog. outside air a/c operation helps keep the battery cool. keeping the battery cool keeps the battery alive.
of course there are many factors that cause battery heat.
