Little over 30...
Here is the procedure...
I searched Google maps and some topology maps until I found a stretch of interstate with a long flat stretch followed by a long steep hill, followed by a flat exit, and finally a slightly declined country road.
Drive as fast as legally possible, turn off all electrical devices and charge the battery as fully as possible, coast down the hill with slight brake pressure to fill the battery, coast off the interstate, then reset all of the averages. Drive on full electric as slow as possible for as long as possible.
Doesn't look like I'll ever hit a 100 miles per gallon.
Of course you can also reset averages and drive 100 feet on battery, which is a tad bit easier.
(This was intended as a humorous diversion for Anita)

haha nice job David. I think that is the highest it will go.
I just made a trip to Lake Tahoe and had to go mostly downhill from 7000+ ft to sea level. I noticed that when the battery was full, it didnt make the whine when braking, and also I was able to step on the pedal much farther down and still keep it in electric model. I had the needle all the way to the white POWER area and the energy monitor was still just showing pure electric.

No, I don't play soccer!
Haha, David. Wouldn't 99.9 MPG be great. I'll be saving gas the good ole fashioned way. My RX won't be going anywhere for a few days while I ride out the hurricane.
I need to change gas stations. I've had the second bad tank and only average in the mid 20s. But I did catch this yesterday morning after coasting down the hill by me

You know they say animals (like zoo or pets) know when things like earthquakes or hurricanes are going to happen. Do you think you're RX was trying to tell ya sumthun?
You made it through the earthquake, good luck riding out the storm! Fill it with gas, fully charge the battery and lock it in the garage!
