Exclamation Diesel OOPS!!

my daughter has a 2007 RX400h and she filled it with diesel yesterday. I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the fuel out. Siphoning did not work.....pulled the rear seat only to find a battery covering the access panel.....not really interested in messing with that. is there another way to get this damn fuel out of this car?? HELP!!

Simple answer is to remove the fuel pump from the top of the tank and then siphon it out.
Reality is that the hybrids have a pressurized tank and a much more involved procedure for that simple operation,
I stopped reading the TIS pages at the 24th step to write back... take it to a Toyota or Lexus or
hybrid knowledgeable independent shop for this operation.

As above remove the fuel pump/sending unit and siphon it out that way. Or force the fuel pump to run and direct the fuel line under the hood into a large container. Take the car to a professional.

might be simpler to rework the engine to use the diesel. Humm, best of both worlds, a diesel hybrid, why didn't we think of that?

Welcome to Club Lexus and your first thread and post, glad you're here!

I totally forgot the RX400h hybrid puts the high volt batteries under the back seat thus blocking easy access to the fuel pump & tank.
Shucks, so much for the easy way to siphon it. lol

This is my hack from looking at the detail(see below).
I would unhook the battery positive terminal while leaving negative terminal hooked up and pull the Copen Relay and inject voltage at pin 3 to force the fuel pump to run.
Also, I would also be absolutely sure I didn't inject voltage on pin 1 or 2 because those pins will back feed voltage to the Hybrid ECM.
The fuel would be safely collected like posted above and only on a cold engine and away from any possible gas fumes being near sparks when injecting voltage to the fuel pump.

*** Disclaimer- should be done by a qualified professional due to risk of damaging the Hybrid ECM or causing a fire or explosion messing with the fuel like this. Plz of course verifying everything before proceeding. Sorry for the bold disclaimer but I feel obligated to write it because hate to see someone follow this thread and collect gas at the fuel rail in the presence of sparks. Fuel pump will pull some current so they may be sparks when injecting voltage. Plz be careful

(Posted in fair use for commentary, verify everything for accuracy.)
