RX450h Invoice cost?
Planning to buy a new RX450H, and wondering if anybody knows (source) of the true cost of invoice to the dealership. Such as incentive, payback, rewards, kickback or what ever the industry jargon is.
I noticed that Lexus has jacked up their invoice's (across the products) from around 15% in 2000, to around 9% of MSRP at 2010.
Annual consumer report used to publish info's about the dealer's true costs. It seesm CR is not publising it any more.
I think any concrete info in this regard will help potential buyrs in better negotiation.

It is a known fact that dealers even selling at invoice making about min. 10 to 15% markup.
For better negotiations they always ask you proof that you've done your home work right!
I've seen people buying new cars from dealership below invoice price, provided they have enough facts to support the argument.
On the issue of HOT, no car in this economy, specially arounf $50k is considered HOT!. Few months back when cheked with few dealers, most had a waiting list. Now most same dealers have 4 to 5 in stock as well as aboundant of 350's.
Buy the way, truecar.com states that:
"Lexus RX 450h prices have been trending downward by 1.09% since May 24"
Also thanks to psu77 for "Truecar.com" info.

The car didn't go into production until May and didn't arrive in the states until late June for retail sales. So those 'known facts' are a tad off.
Some dealers may occasionally have one or more in stock. It's not the norm. My dealer 'Nalley' Lexus is the largest of 5 metro Atlanta dealers and they are usually sold by the time they arrive. Last week when I was there they didn't even have a demo and everything arriving in the next 30 days had a deposit. I don't know about CA. Here they are still considered HOT. A person can still negotiate for what he considers a good deal here but I don't think a dealer will sell one like he'd sell a 350. They don't have to.

Kudos, likewise, for the TrueCar link! Just got a special order 450H for $1000 over invoice, after doing my homework, and walking into my dealer with specs/pricing in hand. They are willing to deal, even on special orders!
