"Metal" Trim?
I thought the RX330 came with real wood and real metal trim.
I just checked the 07 RX400h (it had the HYBRID emblems on the rear doors) and the RX350 and they both had plastic silver trim. Did I imagine things or did my memory fail me? I thought the RX had real metal trim. If so, why did Lexus cut back? Even the Murano has real metal trim.

it's always been painted plastic to my knowledge. the only diff i noted was the shift gate area and the cupholders (front and rear) seem to have real aluminum (for the non-wood trim models). the nav/audio/climate area is painted plastic, as are the door handle areas.

Very few mfrs use true metal trim in the vehicle. Might have something to do with crash worthiness too.
Our company specializes in painted plastics for interiors, and you'd be amazed at how much plastic is in there, some of which looks like wood, some like leather, some like metal. Some mfrs just do it better than others so it does not appear like cheap plastic.
