Hi Jobber99,

I tried to order the 400h, but apparently what Lexus says is an option, isn't an option at all, but a requirement. Even the vehicle I got in the cloth, the RX350, says I could have all kinds of options, but what they don't tell you is that you HAVE to get the leather trim, to get the nav and all the other things I wanted, so custom vehicle my behind! Still, I'm so happy I could get the RX350. It's the runner up to the 400h, and it's till so much better on the environment than most of the other SUVS (and much better than any truck I could buy) so I think I did pretty well in my compromise. I needed something that would work out in the country, could tow my harley and riding mower, and with the towing capacity and front wheel drive, the 350 will do just fine. Man, all these years I've hated SUVs, little did I realize that my energy should have been spent dissing the trucks. I still don't understand how this big beautiful thing I bought pollutes less and gets better mileage than a smaller truck. I guess it's the gearing or something. Thanks to Lexus for trying to make a vehicle with lower emissions. It's not perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.

Bottom line, the Lexus website is NOT accurate. Believe me, I called the US home office.

Well, I wanted a hybrid for sure as I am very environmentally conscious and concerned about energy issues. We only have one planet, if it gets screwed up, we have nowhere else to go. As well, I chose the 400h because I wanted a large and very safe vehicle, or else I would have gone with the Prius or Accord hybrid. I am also looking forward to eventually modding the vehicle and adding a plug-in kit, and I'm trying to figure out how to stick a solar panel on the roof to help with recharging the battery systems, although it won't help much since the largest solar panel that will fit only generates 120 W peak.
