Default Buzzing from glove box area in mornings

Hello all,

Was reading the thread about the noises various people have noticed while driving their 460s, and didn't find anything that matched the sound I am hearing in mine.

I picked up my 460 a couple of months ago with 26K miles (2013 base model), and I have noticed on cooler mornings a buzzing sound coming from the glove box area.

The odd thing is that the volume of the sound is related to how hard I am accelerating (step on it harder, it gets louder).

My first thought was that it was climate control related (seems to only happen on mornings below 60 degrees - cold for California SF bay area), but turning that off while the sound is happening makes no difference. Also not part of the sound system.

The sound itself goes away after about 1 mile of driving (I assume the engine has warmed up enough by then?), and never happens in the afternoon, or if it is a warmer morning.

Before I take it to the dealer, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard this before, so that I can provide a better description.

The cabin filter is behind the glove box. Perhaps the air flow is causing the sound? I think it is a natural airflow, but you may have debris in the filter that are warmed up by the engine heat.

You will notice that you have the option to choose recirculate or fresh air with the climate system turned off.

Try using the recirculate on cold days.

I thought it might be something with the climate control system "warming up" in the mornings, but the sound occurs even if the system is off. Unless, of course, if when it is OFF, a fan is still running somewhere back there... (nothing coming out of the vents).

My thinking is that it is some sort of solenoid that is getting held open (hence the buzzing), but why it occurs even if no air is flowing, and why the sound is related to acceleration is beyond me.
