Another checking oil level thread
I've been working on my own cars for more decades than I prefer to admit. From oil changes on beaters to much more involved stuff on exotics. So I certainly understand how to check the oil level on a regular ole wet sump vehicle with a dipstick like the GX 460.
My question is: does anyone else find it difficult to get a proper reading on the GX dipstick? Its tube is so long and winding that you really only get once chance since the oil smears all over it while it snakes its way down to the pan.

I can't say I have seen that on mine. I usually check on a cold engine that has sat overnight and am just reading the dipstick pulled out in this state.

I usually take 4-5 readings on it. It's tough with fresh oil because of the color/translucency.
