Default Rear Heat Issues

Im usuing my rear heat for the first time since I purchased my new GX premium, it seems that the rear heat takes forever to finally get warm and its really never hot even at the highest temp. I think overall I find that the gx takes awhile to start pumping out hot air compared to my RX, but I dont think its normal for the fron to be blowing hot and the rear to still be cold. I already took it Lexus and they said it was all working fine? I think in a 70K truck my son should be able to have hot air in the back seat no? How is everone else's?

Have you set the rear heat temperature by first pushing the rear (heat) button on the dash then pushing the climate button, then pushing the 3 zone button (touch screen) and then push the rear seat button next to the 3 zone button and then setting the digital temperature and making sure the auto heat button is lit (lower left of touch screen). If all this is done you should have plenty heat (engine has to be at running temperature). If you still do not get good heat, something is wrong! Go back the Stealer and show them the how much heat you are getting.

BTW - Make sure the 4 rear vents are open!

Koz is right as usual, but the sequence he described is part of the problem. There are too many ways for this sequence to go "off the rails" and to inadvertently turn off the rear climate control. To be sure it is working ... confirm the 'REAR' button under the touch screen is lit ... one false touch and you've turned off all conditioned air to the rear seat!

P.S. Judging from your location, you've been struggling with extreme cold. I've noticed several effects on the GX, e.g., it takes several miles of driving before adequate heat is available. If you park your GX outside, it will take even more time. The transmission blocks upshifts until the engine is warm ... don't be surprised to find yourself driving around with the engine at 2,000+ RPM until it is!

P.P.S. Needless to say, but I will anyway ... with all the rear vents open the GX can make it as hot or as cold in the rear seat as your passengers can stand! The rear air conditioning is particularly impressive, perhaps because the cold air is delivered at head level.

Thanks I will try in the am, I know I quickly tried turning it on sitting in the back seat as a passenger and still was piping hot in front seats and cold air blowing on my kid in the back, I didn't realize there was a special sequence I simply turn on the rear heat using the touch screen and set ten and fan on high
